Shinetsu Five Mountains Trail Running Race 2026 ~Patagonia CUP~
Shinetsu Highlands (Myoko City, Niigata Prefecture; Nagano City, Shinanomachi, Iizuna Town, Iiyama City, Nagano Prefecture)

- 100mile: September 21 (Mon) 18:30 Start from Madarao Kogen
- 110km: September 22 (Tue) 5:30 Start from Madarao Kogen
- 100mile (163km)
- 110km (112km)
- 100mile: 33 hours (5 checkpoints)
- 110km: 22 hours (3 checkpoints)
- 100mile: 600 runners
- 110km: 700 runners
Overseas Racers
A total of 20 slots are available across both the 100-mile and 110 km races for runners registering through the RUN Japan website. These slots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
The remaining slots are allocated for domestic (Japan-based) runners.

Common Requirements (100mile & 110km, including Pacers)
- Foreign racers living in and outside of Japan.
- You must be 18 years old or above.
- Trail running is a sport that takes place outdoors. It is thus very important that you are aware of and fully understand the potentialp roblems and challenges that may be encountered while out on the race course (e.g. weather, physical and mental challenges).
You are responsible for yourself during the race and you must possess the skills to be able to deal with such issues in order to participate. - You must have confidence to be able to complete the race within the time limit and without getting lost.
- You understand and agree to the accommodation requirements (*see below) set out for each race category.

Accommodation requirements:All racers must stay in accommodations arranged by the race. We ask for your understanding and cooperation as these accommodations are members of the local tourism associations that organizes and provides the staff that makes this race possible.(For international racers, see “ Accommodation ” for details)
100miles
- You must stay in an accommodation arranged by the race after the race on Tuesday, Sept 22.
- You must have finished a minimum of 1 trail running races over 100 km long within the cutoff times during the past 3 years (Jan 1, 2023 – Apr 7 , 2026).
- All racer qualifications will be checked upon registration.
- The trail races can be either in Japan or overseas.
- The following races will not be accepted:
・Ultra-road marathons held on paved roads
・Stage races
(except for those races with 100km+ in distance per day)
Informal races that cannot be verified as well as pre-races that
do not have verifiable finish times.
The race organizer will be the one to make the final decision as to whether a specific race qualification is acceptable or not.
110km
- You must stay in an accommodation arranged by the race on the day before the race (Mon. Sept 21) and after the race (Tue. Sept 22)

*Please note:
It is customary in Japan for race registration sites to charge an admin fee system usage charge.
This fee of 14% for international entries will be added to your registration when signing up for the race.
- Race bibs are non-transferable and race category may not be changed.
- Free parking available at check-in venue, start/finish venues, and assistant points.
- No refunds after registration is accepted.
- A portion of entry fees is used for trail maintenance and environmental conservation in the area.
- For safety, runners may be accompanied by one self-arranged pacer for the following sections:
100mile: From Checkpoint 3 “Kurohime” to Finish “Plaza Aurora”
110km: From Checkpoint 2 “Sasagamine Greenhouse” to Finish “Plaza Aurora “

Group accident insurance is included in the entry fee however if you are coming from overseas, it is highly recommended that you enroll in an overseas travel insurance plan that will cover you for the duration of your stay in Japan.

- Awards for the top 10 finishers in both the male & female categories.(Prizes for the top 3 finishers)
- Finisher’s Certificates engraved with your name and finish time will be awarded to all participants who complete the race within the time limit.
Certificates will be mailed after the race (around November).
In addition, 100-mile finishers will receive a commemorative buckle. - Priority entry rights for next year’s race for the top 10 finishers in both the male & female categories.
