We plan to apply for qualification.

If you also registered a pacer, the pacer’s gift will be sent to you along with yours. Please pass it on to your pacer.

About Check-in

I cannot make it to check-in on time. What should I do?
Check-in must be completed within the designated time. If you cannot arrive in time, you will not be allowed to start the race.
If you have special circumstances, please contact the race office in advance at support@sfmt100.com.

Can someone check in on my behalf?
Proxy check-in is not allowed. All runners and pacers must check in personally.
If you have special circumstances, please contact the race office in advance at support@sfmt100.com.

What should I do with my luggage during the Welcome Party?
Luggage can be stored at the Information Desk until the party ends. However, due to limited space, please leave luggage in your car (if driving) or at your accommodation (if staying in Madarao and able to return briefly).

About the Race

Are there changing rooms at the Start/Finish venues?
The Start venue has only 3 small changing rooms (single-person) next to the Restaurant Heidi restrooms. Please arrive already dressed. The Finish venue has a foot-washing station and spacious changing rooms.

How do I handle drop bags and finish-line luggage?
For 100mile: Drop bags and luggage storage are at Hotel Madarao Kogen Parking Lot #1 (16:00–18:00).
Please be careful to hand your drop bag to the correct staff member for the right destination.

For 110km: Drop bags and luggage storage are handled by staff next to Heidi before the start (4:00–5:30).

Pacer luggage storage is also available at the same locations, and pacers can also check in and store luggage at their starting aid station on race day.

All stored luggage (including pacer items) and collected drop bags will be returned at the Finish (from 16:00).
Any uncollected drop bags will be available at the awards ceremony venue.
*Drop bag (drawstring type) dimensions: H50cm x W38cm x D10cm

Are there expected congestion points on the course?
The section between Arasebara Water Station (14 km) and the temporary summit of Mt. Madarao (17 km) is a climbing single-track trail winding through beautiful Japanese oak (mizunara) and beech forests.
Some congestion is expected on this section. Runners aiming for top placements or fast finishing times are advised to move ahead earlier, as the section between the Wakui Forest Road entrance (4 km) and Arasebara Water Station follows a double-track or wider dirt forest road where passing is easier.
In addition, the Nishino Power Plant suspension bridge (100-mile: approx. 108 km / 110 km: approx. 57 km) has a limit on the number of people who can cross at one time, so some congestion may also occur there.
Although race staff will be stationed to ensure safe and smooth crossing, please allow sufficient time to cross the bridge before passing Sasagamine Green House (cut-off time: 17:00).

What happens if I drop out early?
If you retire early due to injury or illness, please rest at the aid station waiting area (or medical station if needed), then wait for transport to the Finish (rest area available) via the retirement vehicle.
Free shuttle buses to accommodations and parking areas generally start from 15:00, so please be prepared for a potentially long wait.

If my pacer drops out, can I continue the race? Will my record count?
Yes, you can continue racing and your record will count. However, if the runner drops out, the pacer cannot continue alone.
If a pacer retires, they must report to an aid station or course marshal and hand over their timing chip.

Mobile phones are mandatory equipment. Can I turn it off during the race to save battery?
Race headquarters may need to contact you for emergencies or to confirm your status. Please carry a portable charger and keep your phone on at all times (until Sep 15, 5:30).

Can I continue running past the cutoff time to the next aid station or finish?
To ensure smooth and safe race operations, running past the cutoff time is not permitted. Please complete the retirement process and follow staff instructions to descend.

Must all mandatory equipment be worn on my body?
Items can be carried in a backpack or similar — they don’t need to be worn. However, missing even one mandatory item is grounds for disqualification.
Leaving items in drop bags or with supporters is considered not carrying them and will result in disqualification. Mandatory equipment checks may be conducted during the race.

Will GPX data for the course be available?
GPX data will be uploaded around August 20, when the “Final Guide” is published.

100mile: Akaike, APA Resort Joetsu Myoko, National Myoko Youth Outdoor Learning Center, Ikenotaira Sports Plaza, Kurohime, Sasagamine Greenhouse, Togakushi Ski Resort

110km: Kurohime, Sasagamine Greenhouse, Togakushi Ski Resort
