① Race Format

Race ranking is based on finish times.The race course is not owned by the race. Please be considerate towards other users and have respect for the environment.

Checkpoint Cutoff Time

There will be cut-off points along the course (see “cut-offs” below). The finish line cut-off time is on Wed. Sep 23 at 3:30am.
If you do not make the cut-off times, you will not be able to continue the race and must follow the instructions provided by race staff to make your way down the mountain.

③ Pacer

In order to support runners safely, racers are allowed to be accompanied by a pacer as follows: For the 100mile category, from checkpoint 3 (Kurohime) to the finish line (Plaza Aurora) and for the 110km category, from checkpoint 2 (Sasagamine) to the finish line (Plaza Aurora).
Pacers are optional. Please refer to the “Pacer page” for further details.


Prohibited Items

⑧ Race Bib Attachment

Staff will be checking your race bibs with timing chips attached during the race. One race bib must be attached to the front of your upper body. Make sure that it is clearly visible and not hidden by clothes. One race bib must also be attached to your backpack (back of your upper body) and must also be fully visible. Please do not fold your race bibs to make them smaller.

⑨ Withdrawal (DNF)

If you decide to drop out of the race, please inform the aid station staff. If you need to drop out of the race while still out on the course due to an injury or illness, please inform the nearest staff member. If you are unable to move on your own, please contact race headquarters and follow their instructions.

In whichever case, you must hand-in your race bib (with the timing chip attached) to a race staff. This is very important for safety confirmation purposes.
If you fail to do so, you will be prohibited from participating in future races and may be charged for search and rescue costs and related expenses.
If you lose your timing chip, you will charged for the cost of the timing chip.

If you drop out of the race, you will be asked to wait at the aid station and then transported to the finish line (which will have a resting area. If you drop out of the race early, please be prepared to wait for a long time as the free shuttle buses that run between the finish area and the hotels only operate from 15:00.

⑩ Race Suspension

You may be asked to stop racing by race staff if they consider you to be in not good enough condition to continue the race.

⑪ Race Cancellation or Changes

The race may be stopped or changed mid-race if the race organizer determines that it is unsafe to continue with the race.

⑫ Grounds for Disqualification

  • Failure to obey the rules and regulations or follow instructions by race staff.
  • Failure to meet the cut-off time limits.
  • You do not have your mandatory gear (this includes if you lose your mandatory gear)
  • You receive outside support at points other than the official assistance points.
  • You receive support from your pacer or other racers during the race.
    Prohibited support includes pulling your hand as well as carrying your backpack.
