Mandatory & Recommended Equipment
Both runners and pacers must carry all mandatory gear during the race. Mandatory gear checks may be conducted at any time during the race for both the 100 mile and 110 km categories by race staff.
*Depending on conditions, additional items may be added to the mandatory gear list to ensure runner safety.
The race bib and timing chip provided at check-in must be worn at all times during the race.
You must keep the phone turned on during the race (until Sept 23,5:30) so that the race organizer is able to contact you to confirm your safety.
*Carrying a portable battery charger is strongly recommended for safety.
*You must be able to receive messages on Messenger.
Band aids, insect bite ointment, regular medicine, etc.
Cups will not be provided at the aid stations.
Must be waterproof and breathable, seams must be seam-sealed and the jacket must have a hood.
Must be in good condition without significant damage or wear and tear.
One additional item must be carried in addition to the one worn during the race.
Two headlamps must be carried, each with spare batteries.
The lights must be bright enough to continue racing in the dark. Smartphone lights are not acceptable. Portable battery chargers are not acceptable. However, lights that can remain on while charging are acceptable.
A bear bell is highly recommended as there are wild animals in this region.
However, please do not ring your bear bell in the vicinity of residential areas where bear bells are prohibited.
A whistle built into a backpack is acceptable.
Recommended Gear
To cover medical expenses if transported to a hospital.
Electronic compasses are acceptable
For support or use as a bandage.
Such as down or fleece garments.
Full-finger gloves required.
Must cover the ears.
Must be visible from behind at night
Spoon, fork, etc., for use at aid stations.
Sunscreen, Vaseline, waterproof bag, waterproof shoes, etc.
